The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced a 50% increase in its Taleemi Wazaif (Educational Stipends) for 2026. This decision aims to support low-income families and ensure students can continue their education without financial obstacles. The revised payments are part of BISP’s ongoing efforts under the Government of Pakistan to enhance social protection and education accessibility.
The updated stipend is now more substantial, helping beneficiaries cover tuition, books, and other educational expenses. Families registered under the BISP Taleemi Wazaif Program can track payments and eligibility through official channels.
New Payment Structure for Taleemi Wazaif 2026
The 50% increase affects both school and university students receiving BISP stipends. The updated amounts are:
- School Students: Previously Rs. 2,000 per month → Now Rs. 3,000 per month
- College/University Students: Previously Rs. 5,000 per month → Now Rs. 7,500 per month
This increase is part of a broader plan to promote education and reduce dropout rates among underprivileged families.
Who Is Eligible for the Increased Stipend?
Eligibility criteria remain aligned with BISP’s original rules:
- Students must be registered with the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER)
- Beneficiaries must belong to low-income households
- Enrollment in recognized schools, colleges, or universities is required
- Only students with verified CNIC or B-Form numbers are eligible
Eligible students will automatically receive the increased amount if already registered in the Taleemi Wazaif program.

Beneficiaries can confirm their updated stipend status online:
- Visit the BISP official web portal or 8171 SMS service
- Enter CNIC or B-Form number
- Check payment history and next disbursement schedule
- For issues, visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office
Payments are distributed through HBL Konnect, Bank Alfalah, and local BISP payment centers.
