The Punjab government has finalized large-scale preparations for Ramadan 2026, aiming to ensure that no deserving family faces hardship during the holy month. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting to approve an expanded Ramadan relief strategy backed by a Rs47 billion Nigahban Package, marking one of the largest welfare initiatives in the province’s history.

The newly approved Ramadan relief plan introduces multiple welfare streams under a single coordinated framework. The government has directed all departments to ensure seamless execution before the start of Ramadan.
Key approved initiatives include:
- CM Rashan Card expansion
- Ramadan Nigahban Card distribution
- Nigahban Dastarkhwan (free iftar meals)
- Sahulat Bazaars for subsidized items
- Centralized digital monitoring system
This integrated approach aims to reduce inflation pressure and improve transparency across Punjab.
Ramadan Nigahban Card: Activation & Payment System
To facilitate smooth cash disbursement, the Punjab government has approved the establishment of 136 activation centers across the province. These centers will help beneficiaries activate cards and resolve verification issues.

To further support low-income households, the government approved the establishment of eight “Maryam Kay Mehman” Nigahban Dastarkhwan in every tehsil during Ramadan.
